thesobsister: Two comic book pioneers, artists, legends, both of whom died this month.  Joe Simon (l.) died on 12/15 and Jerry Robinson died 12/7.  Simon is best known for his work with partner Jack Kirby, creating a stack of Golden Age heroes, most notably Captain America.  Robinson is best known for having created the Joker.  Both men contributed to the creation or development of countless characters, due to their talent and the creative ferment in the comic book studio scene of the ’40s.
